The Family of the Month for June is the Angeles Family, consisting
of Ann and George. They moved to Moose Jaw from Lipton, SK, and
joined St. Joseph Parish in June 2015. Both Ann and George work at
Dairy Queen in Moose Jaw, with George serving as the General
Manager and Ann as the Manager and Human Resources Manager
Ann is a member of the Catholic Women’s League and recently joined
the Parish Council as a Member at Large. She also co-founded the
Filipino Choir with George, which started two years ago, and they
have been serving the parish together since then. Ann is the choir
leader, while George plays the organ. Initially, the choir was created
for the Christmas Evening Mass, and a few months ago, they began
serving during the 11 AM Mass. The group consists of Filipino
newcomers.
The couple has two children: Adrienne, who is 22 and works as an
assistant volleyball coach for the Briercrest Women’s Volleyball
team, and Grann, who is 17 and a Grade 11 student at Vanier
Collegiate. Grant helps with school masses and works as a
projectionist during the Evening Masses.
The Angeles family is grateful for the guidance and opportunity to
serve in their parish. Ann quote, “Let’s volunteer and be involved. St.
Joseph Parish needs us just as we need guidance from the Lord. In
omnibus Amare et Servire” (In everything, love and serve the Lord).
