Family of the month November

Congratulations to the Joyno Family (Jomar, Benjie, and Luanne  Chloe)

The Joyno family moved to Canada in December 2022 from Dubai, UAE, when Benjie arrived with her family as an international student at Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Moose Jaw. Adjusting from the desert climate to –45°C winters was challenging, but their family embraced the journey with gratitude and faith.

Jomar holds a Bachelor of Customs Administration from the Philippines and worked for many years in Dubai as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He continues this work in Canada and is now employed at CRM of Canada Processing ULC. He volunteers at the parish by helping with snow clearing, supporting sound tech during special celebrations, and assisting at the 11 AM Sunday Mass.

Benjie is a licensed teacher with a Bachelor of Secondary Education (English), a licensed caregiver, and a SPED teacher. She worked in Dubai as a Supply Chain Logistics and Procurement Manager before earning a Business Management Diploma at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. She is now a Fleet and Maintenance Administrator at Heidelberg Materials North America. At St. Joseph Parish, she has served as an usher, greeter, lector, and is part of the Voice of Saint Joe’s Choir. She also assists the Knights of the Altar during the 11 AM Sunday Mass.

Luanne Chloe started school in Canada in Grade 5 and is now in Grade 8. She is a dedicated altar server, regularly assisting at the 9 AM and 11 AM Masses, and at the Saturday 5 PM Mass when needed. She also serves during weddings, funerals, and other special church events. She enjoys basketball and volleyball, and her team won the Girls’ Elementary Catholic Basketball Championship last year.

The Joyno family has lived in Moose Jaw since 2022 and is grateful for the warm and welcoming community at St. Joseph Parish. They give back through volunteering and parish service as a humble expression of gratitude for the blessings and guidance they have received.

Their Faith

Faith is at the center of the Joyno family’s life. They believe in the Catholic Church as the one founded by Jesus, and they strive to live according to His teachings. Their devotion is expressed through service, prayer, and participation in parish life. They are thankful for the blessings they have received and hope their example encourages and strengthens the faith of others. Their gratitude is offered to Jesus, through Mary, and to the Holy Trinity, as they continue to give back to the Church that has given them so much.

Congratulations Jomar & Benjie and Chloe
